Urge Congress to Pass the SAFE Act and Prohibit Horse Slaughter

Wild horses are being sold off cheap by the federal government and a legal loophole means many are ending up on a fast track to slaughter. A recent New York Times investigation found the Bureau of Land Management has more than doubled its wild horse sales since the Trump Administration took office, with thousands of mustangs landing in kill pens and shipped abroad. The SAFE Act would close this loophole for good, banning horse slaughter and live export for slaughter nationwide. It has bipartisan support — yet it’s stalled in Congress for years without a vote. Send a message to your Representative and Senators right now urging them to cosponsor and pass the SAFE Act.
